We are pleased to introduce to you our completed Youth Exchange project, 'Easy-peasy,' which took place in Zaježová, Slovakia, from the 6th to the 11th of September 2023.
The exchange spanned five days and involved participants from three countries: Spain, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
Seven participants from each country, along with one or two group leaders, attended the youth exchange. The participants, aged 18-30, belonged to the category of disadvantaged young people, primarily students from economically weaker backgrounds. Some of them hailed from geographically disadvantaged areas, facing a lack of opportunities. Additionally, participants with psychological problems related, among other things, to the post-COVID situation were included.
The project aimed to provide young people from the three countries with a unique opportunity to develop their creative abilities, enhance language skills, and gain new experiences in the fields of art and sustainability in a serene natural environment in the heart of Slovakia. The project contributed to the development and innovation of youth work practices, creating an environment that supported participants' personal and career development.
The planned activities for the youth exchange included:
Creative Photography: Emphasizing teamwork and creativity, workshops took place in the countryside where small, mixed nationality groups explored the possibilities of photography as a means of artistic self-expression under the guidance of a lecturer.
Upcycling Clothes with Screen Printing: Participants engaged in upcycling clothes using the screen printing technique to promote creativity and sustainability. A group of young participants from Slovakia, involved in a solidarity project of the European Solidarity Corps, shared the results of their two-year project at the youth exchange. They conducted a screen printing workshop on recycled clothes for the other participants.
Common Trips: Exploring the surrounding area with an emphasis on getting to know the natural environment and the local community.
